The exhibit is a Rockwell Collins SSB , HF transceiver VC-120 that makes up the GRC-220 , with an operating frequency of 2-29.999MHz in 100Hz steps.

There is no missing item pointing to the component equipment, but the transmission is malfunctioning.

The exhibitor does not have the materials ( circuit diagram, instruction manual, etc. ) and knowledge of GRC-220 , but the operating status of this machine that can be confirmed is as follows.

The exciter part seems to be in operation for both transmission and reception, and the QSO of the amateur radio band 7MHz could be received with LSB without any problem. Also, there seems to be no problem with the operation of the low frequency amplifier.

If you connect a dummy to the 50 Ω antenna terminal in this state and transmit with SSB , the antenna tuning circuit does not seem to be functioning normally, and after an alarm is displayed, it returns to the reception state.

However, when I tried various operations, it became possible to transmit occasionally, I could confirm the output of about 30W , and I was able to demodulate the SSB signal with another receiver . However, an alarm will be generated immediately and the reception status will be restored.

As mentioned above, the exhibit is a malfunctioning sell as a parts or non-working, but we would appreciate it if you could use it for repair, parts removal, etc. GRC -220 . Please refer to it.
