Thank you for viewing this item. This unit is the NRD-240, a high-performance analog receiver developed by JRC (Japan Radio Co., Ltd.) as a successor to the NRD-90 series of professional receivers. It boasts an extremely high level of perfection as an analog receiver and is still highly regarded by experts and DXers today.
This is a rare model in excellent condition, having been owned by the same person since new purchase, and retaining almost its original state.

■ Technical features of the NRD-240
● The ultimate form of high-precision synthesizer technology
The local oscillator section employs a synthesizer with low phase noise and high stability, which was difficult to achieve with consumer-grade equipment at the time. It exhibits extremely low frequency drift even during long-term operation, making it suitable for continuous monitoring as a professional monitor. The reference oscillator is equipped with a 0.3 ppm temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) .
● High selectivity achieved through a multi-stage IF filter configuration
Multiple high-performance filters are placed in the IF stage.
Excellent signal separation in congested environments
High S/N ratio in weak electric fields

■ Historical evaluation of the NRD-240
The NRD-240 is a model that was hailed as “the pinnacle of analog receivers” in the high-end receiver market of the 1990s . Its original retail price was a very high 1.3 million yen, demonstrating that JRC spared no expense in investing the latest technology of the time.
Even after its successor, the NRD-630, moved towards DSP technology, many experts and DXers still prefer the NRD-240 for its analog sound quality and stability, maintaining its firm position as a legendary analog camera.
■ Individual condition
It has not been subjected to daily high-load operation and has been handled carefully, only occasionally used for monitoring and receiving. There are minor scratches due to age and slight rust on the connectors, but both the exterior and interior are in very good condition. Please check the images for details.

■ Operating status
Power-on and basic receiving functions have been confirmed.
Memory IC backup lithium battery (CR2032) replaced.
The self-diagnostic circuit checks the internal circuitry on a board-by-board basis, and displays “Good” if no abnormalities are found (see photo).
Due to the multi-functional nature of this precision receiver, we have not been able to verify the details of all its functions. It will be sold as is.
